Replacement Air Filters![]() We carry a large assortment of genuine Honeywell - Trion - Aprilaire Replacement Air Conditioning and Furnace Filters Mediums for your home or office, in many differant Merv ratings and sizes. Also remember to change your water filter at this time. Many people think if they go with a generic replacement air filter with a higher Merv rating they'll do a better job of filtering the air. This may not be true as the higher the Merv, the more you may be restricting the air flow. We feel that a Merv over 14 in most cases is too restrictive on your air system and may lead to more problems such as a shorten the life in your furnace or blower motor and low air flow at registers and vent outlets in your home. So, check your size & model number before you order. We recommend changing filters every 6 months regardless of what the manufacturer says. I always change my home filters at the beginning of heating season and the beginning of cooling season. Most HVAC service people will tell that most service calls are the result of customers not changing there filters. That's always nice to find out $150-$500 or more later. Also, when changing your air filters, make sure that your furnace or AC is in the off position at the thermostat or at the switch near you furnace. We always have a garbage bag ready to put the old air filter into while changing and dispose of in the garbage preferably outside. Then turn your system back on and you should be good to go.
